Application Procedures

1. Contact us

Request from us by mail, or download from the “Application Forms”, an Application Form for International Students To Study at Tianjin University of Technology, PRC. Fill in the Form and send it to us by E-mail (as an attached file) or at the following

2. Get your visa

Go to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your home country to get an X visa (student visa) or an F visa (traveler visa). Remember to bring with you your Admission Notice, JW202 Form, Physical Examination Record for Foreigners and your passport.
An X visa is necessary for each international student coming to take one of our bachelor's or master's programs, while either an X visa or an F visa is acceptable for students coming to take the Chinese language course depending on their duration in China. Those with an X visa shall go through the residential formalities in China within 30 days after arrival.
If you do not have enough time to get an X visa or F visa before you leave your country, you may get an L visa (traveler visa) for the time being (a physical examination is necessary in your home country), and we shall help you to exchange your L visa for an X visa when you have arrived (however, you will need to pay the visa fee).
An X visa holder whose spouse works in China may also apply to study in our school

3. Physical examination

If you plan to get an X visa and study in China for 1Year or more,you should take physical examination at a public hospital in your home country. All the items in the Physical Examination Record for Foreigners shall be examined. Otherwise, you should retake the examination upon arrival, which will cost you extra expense.
A recent photo of yours shall be pasted at the place specified in the Physical Examination Record for Foreigners, with an official stamp of the hospital . The form shall be complete and verified with the examining doctor's signature. If the form fails to comply with these requirements or is dated more than five months before the date of your arrival, a re-examination is required, and you shall pay the required fee.
If you arrive without a physical examination or the examination does not meet the requirements, you should take the examination here at the Tianjin Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine, and you shall pay the required fee. Those who fail to pass the examination shall leave China within the specified period of time.

4. Meeting you at the airport (harbor)

If you wish us to meet you upon arrival, fax or email us in advance the detailed information about date, time ( Beijing time), airport (harbor), flight number, etc. A transportation fee shall be charged.
If you come during the summer or winter vacation, fax or email us in advance for us to arrange for your lodging with the Students Dorm Department.

5. Registration, payment

Within 72 hours after your arrival, come to register at the International Students Office of CIE, Tianjin University of Technology. Bring with you your Admission Notice, JW202 Form, Physical Examination Record For Foreigners, and 8 photos (the same as your passport photo).
Tuition and other fees shall be paid at the time of registration.

6. Insurance

You should buy “Overall Medical Insurance for Foreign Students in China (Group Insurance)” when you come here for registration at the International Student Office of CIE:
18 to 45 years of age: RMB400 (about $50)/0.5 year; RMB600 (about $75)/1 year
46 to 60 years of age: RMB600 (about $75)/0.5 year; RMB1000 ($125)/1 year

7. Life on campus

Food: a number of student canteens and restaurants on campus, offering a good variety of foods, costing about $1 - $4 a day;
Lodging: apartments of furnished single rooms with facilities;
Sports: sports ground, tennis courts, indoor courts for ball games, wushu (Chinese martial arts) hall, etc.;
Entertainment: comprehensive entertainment hall, theater, lecture hall;
Services: bank, post office, book store, supermarket, etc.
